Weekly Assignments

1.  Module Two

This week we begin Module 2 and receive new Learn & Apply books! 

The focus of this module is adding and subtracting fractions.

There are only 4 lessons in Topic A which means that we will have a quiz on Friday!  See lesson sequence below. 

Use the study guide below to prepare.

2. IXL Weekly Skills 

  In small group and WIN time, students will be working on their IXL Diagnostic and recommended IXL skills listed to the right.

Wednesday - UNITY DAY: wear orange.

1. End of Module Test - Module 1

This week we will take the End-of-Module Test over two days. 

Tuesday students will complete #1 - #5, Wednesday #6 - #10.

2. New Learn & Apply Books! - Module 2

Students will receive their new Module 2 books this week. 

We will offically begin the new material next week.

3. IXL Weekly Skills 

  In small group and WIN time, students will be working on their IXL Diagnostic and recommended IXL skills listed to the right. 

4.  Focused Interim Assessment Block (FIAB)

On Friday, students will take a pracitce assessment in preparation for the Smarter Balanced Test.

1. Module 1 - Topic D

This week we will continue learning how to write and interpret algebraic expressions with Lessons 18, 19 & 20.

2. GRASP - Finishing the House

GRASP activities are meant to apply our learning in real world scenarios. In this case, students will be working in small groups to determine how much siding is needed to cover a house.  "GRASP" stands for: goal, role, audience, situation, product.  Their product is an invoice for siding.

3. IXL Weekly Skills 

  In small group and WIN time, students will be working on their IXL Diagnostic and recommended IXL skills listed to the right. 

3. Calendar: Reminder Lesson 20 is the last lesson of Module 1. That means we will have an End-of-Module test on Tuesday, October 14th. There is no school on Monday the 13th for Columbus Day.
